Severe back pain is suffered by hundreds of thousands of people around the globe with pretty much everyone falling victim at some point in their life. 1. Bad Posture, this is probably one of the most common causes of severe back pain. Sitting or standing in the same position with the back and shoulders bent or curved for long periods of time causes the muscles and the spine to stiffen up and extremely painful. If your work dictates that you have to be in one position for most of the working day try to take a quick stretch break once in a while.
2. Injury to the back through an accident in which whiplash is frequently caused, a fall or perhaps unsuccessful surgery can cause conditions such as sciatica, spondylolisthesis, slipped disc or spinal stenos to name but a few.

The wear and tear on the body as we constantly strive to succeed and out perform our colleagues eventually will take its toll and we end up suffering many conditions, severe back pain being one of them.
